May happenings at the Townehouse!

We are so excited about all the upcoming events and activities at the Ventura Townehouse for the month of May! Our Social Activities Directory Nancee Borgnine and her activities crew have a full month of fun planned including live performances, new exercise classes, and special outings.

Special Events

Friday, May 3rd, join us for happy hour in the Dining Room Lounge at 3pm. We have invited a Mariachi Band to get you in the mood for celebrating Cinco de Mayo.

Wednesday, May 8th, at 2pm in the Vista Room we look forward to another lecture with Rabbi Michael Lotker. Subject: “The Secrets of Kabbalah = Jewish Mysticism”

Friday, May 10th, join us in the Vista Room at 6:30 for a performance with excerpts from the ballet Cinderella performed by the Footworks Youth Ballet. We give a special thank you to resident Carmie Oakley who is the founder of Footworks Ballet and her daughter and coach Kirsten Oakley for bringing the ballet to the Townehouse.

Saturday, May 11th, at 3pm, join us in the Rose Garden at 3pm for a pre-Mother’s Day special concert featuring the world class brass quintet, “Amici Americani.” Be prepared to hear a delightful mixture of classics for brass, from J.S. Bach, through the Beatles and beyond!

Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12, our fabulous dining team will be serving a special Mother’s Day luncheon. Starting at 10:30am, a meet and greet reception with champagne and lovely music will be held in the front lobby. We will begin serving lunch at 11:00am. After lunch, enjoy a walk in our beautiful gardens with family and friends. Then at 6:30pm, Fredrik will perform a special piano concert in the Vista Room. We are looking forward to a beautiful day.

Note: If you are inviting family, please RSVP at the front desk. You do not need to RSVP if you are not bringing a guest. The cost for an adult guest is $25 and for children $12.50. Please note: No green buck vouchers will be taken for the Mother’s Day luncheon.

Friday, May 17th, at 1:30 in the Vista Room join Dr. Woodling for an informative talk on the benefits of “Restorative Sleep.”

Wednesday, May 1st, we will leave the Front Lobby at 11am for lunch out at your favorite Chinese restaurant.

Wednesday, May 15th, we will leave the front lobby at 9am to travel to Chumash and Solvang. Sign up early in the Dining Room Lounge.

Monday, May 27th, we will leave the Front Lobby at 10am and travel to the Conejo Mountain Memorial Park for a special Memorial Day service, followed by a concert performance by the Camarillo Community Band.

Wednesday, May 29th, join Nancee and Ed in the Front Lobby at 10:30 for an adventurous day of Thrift Store Shopping.

Also in this month’s newsletter, you’ll meet new residents Joanne Kingsbury, Marlene Rubin, Olivia Slaughter and James Hall.
