In his own words:
I grew up in Los Angeles with one older brother. My father worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and my mother worked for Fowler Brothers bookstore in downtown LA. I moved around a bit as a young boy because of my dad’s work.
I graduated from Redondo Beach High School, then worked at Manhattan Beach Metlox Manufacturers for a few years and then I went into the service. I was drafted to the service/infantry division. I served in Korea and left the service after a few years. I married my beautiful wife, Arlene Gorman, in 1953.
I then went to work for Edison and had a long career with Edison. I rose in the ranks to become an inspector, inspecting underground vaults and manholes.
My wife Arlene and I were fortunate to have a long marriage and a wonderful family. We had a girl named Terry and two boys: Bob and Jerry. Arlene and I had a great relationship and enjoyed many trips with our wonderful grandchildren. Unfortunately, Arlene got Alzheimer’s disease and passed away in 2014 at age 79.
I moved to the Townehouse in September 2025. I am looking forward to joining in all the activities. I especially like games of all kinds. I like to read my newspaper every morning and then I will often use the gym. Sundays I attend church with my friends in Ojai. I have a special companion, my dog Pepper, she visits me often here at the Townehouse. I am looking forward to making new friends while joining in with all the social events.
