Act of Kindness

When our Townehouse Chief Engineer Steve Drake and his family lost their home in the Palisades fire, our knitting group sprang into action. Margaret Koster, Joanne Kingsbury, Maxine Snelgrove, Joan Campbell, Marianne Crane, Dot Wimbish, Sumi Hirabayashi and Anne Howorth contributed in making this amazing Afghan. Each person knitted or crocheted squares, then Joanne and Margaret joined them all. Joanne made the cute doggy square to represent their family dog “Maverik.” This special Afghan was presented to Steve’s wife Sarah. Sarah was overcome with emotion and thanked everyone for their love and compassion. She said this act of kindness brings light into the days of darkness for their family during this difficult time.
