COVID-19 Protocol

Dear Residents and Families,

Thank you for your continued diligence in following the Covid-19 policies and mandates that have been set forth by Public Health and CDC.  The elderly in retirement communities continue to remain among the highest risk in relation to Covid-19.  Our continued goal at the Ventura Townehouse is to maintain your health, safety, and well-being.

We ask that you continue with the following:

  • Remain six feet minimum space from others.
  • Cough/sneeze into the crook of your elbow and turn away from people while doing so.
  • Wash your hands frequently for 20 seconds.
  • Frequently use hand sanitizer throughout the day.
  • Only two persons per elevator wearing a mask.
  • Inform the front desk or assisted living department if you experience covid-19 symptoms, i.e., fever, cough, short of breath, sore throat, etc.
  • Refrain from congregating in large groups.  Three people maximum using six feet distancing.
  • Refrain from leaving the community unless for a needed Doctor appointment.  We have an onsite store that sells various items to purchase.  Furthermore, our bus driver (Maria) can pick up necessary items from the store and bring back to you.  Please contact the front desk to coordinate.
  • Reminder to follow our “no visitor policy.”  We are limiting visitors to only doctors and health care professionals.  If you want to see your loved one face to face, come to the front desk and you can talk via cell phone through the glass while they remain outside.
  • Family/friends can drop off items you need at the front entrance.  We will secure the item and bring it to you.

We encourage you to continue to stay in contact with your families, friends and loved ones via telephone, text, email, video chat/facetime, etc.  It is important for everyone to stay connected as much as possible to maintain positive mental health.

Do not forget to venture out of your apartment to get fresh air and a new change of scenery.  Meeting up with a few friends in a common area, maintaining six feet social distancing is encouraged.

We will continue to have weekly entertainers outside that you can view from your balcony.  Also, weekly bingo will continue to be played from your balconies.

It has been our pleasure to bring your meals daily to your door.  The brand-new heated carts are working out very well and are a marked improvement to delivering your hot entrees.

Our activity team will continue to make weekly visits to your apartments to check in and provide encouragement and follow up on any specific needs.

Our nursing team is continuing with their daily temperature and well-being check.

Our stellar Ventura Townehouse employees are doing a fantastic job.  They are truly dedicated and working diligently and safely during this time.  We are all very proud of them.

We appreciate your understanding of the many changes that we are experiencing and following.  One day soon, we will be able to get back to normal, including, common dining, activities, large group events, etc.  In the meantime, please continue to be patient.  We are here to serve.
