Laila Pacheco - Ventura Townehouse baker extraordinaire“I am twenty years old, and I am currently a culinary student at Oxnard College. When I am not working at the Townehouse, I am with my mentor doing catering events. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my friends. I was interested in cooking and baking at a young age. I remember always watching the Food Network channel. I enjoyed watching the chef on the Food Network channel cooking a full-course meal.

“Watching how they made the dessert was my favorite.

The chefs are smiling as they prepare food for the guests and residents at the event, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.“My dad also influenced me, as he liked to cook. On my father’s side of our family are cooks and bakers. So, maybe it’s in my genes. He is very proud of me for following in his footsteps and for doing a job I love.
One day I hope to have my own restaurant or café.
I am very grateful and love working here as the baker for all the residents.”
