Introducing New Executive Chef Bryan Gross

Posted on: October 28, 2021

Our new Executive Chef, Bryan Gross, was born in beautiful downtown Burbank, the first of three children followed by two sisters who all grew up in the San Fernando Valley.

He started playing the drums in elementary school and then all the way through high school and beyond. He performed with a multiple-time national and international Championship Marching Band, competing all over the US and Canada. He then became a marching band instructor for several high schools in the Los Angeles area and held many championship titles as an instructor.

“I learned how to cook from one of the best teachers ever, my mom, whose recipes I still use to this day,” Bryan said. “While working at one of the many restaurants in my life, I met my wife, who worked with me creating a catering division where we created many happy events with over 1000 weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and Academy Awards spectaculars.”

His experience also includes serving as the Director of Food and Beverage/Executive Chef for hotels and restaurants including the iconic Sportsman’s Lodge in Studio City, California, Director of Dining Operations with the World Famous Hollywood Palladium, and Executive Chef of South Street Philly Cheese Steaks, overseeing locations at Dodger Stadium, the Great Western Forum, and the Staples Center, and most recently as Executive Chef/Director of Dining Services in Senior Living.

With over 40 plus years of experience in teaching and food service, Bryan said he looks forward to continuing to make as many more people happy as possible here at the Ventura Townehouse.

  • My grandmother lives at the Ventura Townehouse and I feel confident that she is in good hands. They get her to her appointments and provide any aftercare that she may need. Everyone there is friendly and like family. I feel like I’m at home when I go there to visit her and eat with her in the dining room.

  • Recently, I visited my Mom from Chicago. Each day I offered to take us out and about in Ventura. We found ourselves having such an enjoyable time at the Townehouse we didn’t leave. The dining room was so lovey to enjoy with her friends. Patios welcoming and the activities kept us busy. We laughed and had fun all day! Thank you everyone for making me feel at home and making my visit special. It’s always hard to leave my mom. But not as hard when I know she is so happy! Until my next visit!
