Happy 2024 from the Townehouse!

It’s hard to believe it, but here we are at the start of a brand new year! We are kicking off 2024 with plenty of events and activities to keep everyone at the Ventura Townehouse living their best life in the coming year.

January Activity Highlights

Hibachi Steakhouse Lunch Excursion

Wednesday, January 3 – We will leave the front lobby at 1 pm for a special lunch gathering at Hibachi Steakhouse in Santa Barbara.

Chumas and Solvang Excursion

Wednesday, January 17 – Sign up in the Dining Room Lounge. We will meet in the Front Lobby for a 9am departure.

Ventura County Concert Band Performance

Sunday, January 28 – 2pm to nearby Buena High School for the Ventura County Concert Band concert.

Local Movie Night

Thursday, December 21 – Wednesday 31st to see a new movie at a local Ventura movie theater. We will decide which movie to watch and which time to depart closer to the date.

Wine and Cheese Socials

We are pleased to announce that we have some new musicians in January for our wine and cheese socials which begin at 3pm every Friday.

January 5th – Dave Winston is a local singer and guitarist.

January 12th – Jordan Preston performed for us for the first time in November and is back by popular demand. Jordan sings a mixture of smooth soul, the music of the crooners and much more.

January 19th – The Dixieland band are members of Anne’s Ventura Brass Band.

January 26th – Monte Montgomery’s Jazz Band. Monte is a multi-instrumentalist who plays in various bands in Ventura County.

The New Townehouse Gentlemen’s Club

Calling all men! You are formally invited to a brand-new exclusive club; The Townehouse Gentlemen’s Club.

We shall meet every Tuesday at 1:30pm beginning on Tuesday 9th, kicking things off with a party on the Pier where we will drink beer, eat snacks and talk about manly things!

January 16th – Golf Tournament in the Rose Garden…with beer!

January 23rd – Pool tournament in the Basement…with beer!

January 30th – Pub games in the Park…with beer!

As you can see, The Townehouse Gentlemen’s Club will have a bit of a beer theme at each get together!

We’re looking forward to seeing all the men taking part in the activities, chatting with friends old and new and having lots of fun at The Townehouse Gentlemen’s Club.

Also in this month’s resident newsletter, we look back on some of our December events, including our Townehouse Christmas tree decorating competition, the performance by the Paradise Music Academy, and a special letter from our outgoing Resident Board President, Terry Gibson.

Our Happy Residents

My grandmother lives at the Ventura Townehouse and I feel confident that she is in good hands. They get her to her appointments and provide any aftercare that she may need. Everyone there is friendly and like family. I feel like I’m at home when I go there to visit her and eat with her in the dining room.

Recently, I visited my Mom from Chicago. Each day I offered to take us out and about in Ventura. We found ourselves having such an enjoyable time at the Townehouse we didn’t leave. The dining room was so lovey to enjoy with her friends. Patios welcoming and the activities kept us busy. We laughed and had fun all day! Thank you everyone for making me feel at home and making my visit special. It’s always hard to leave my mom. But not as hard when I know she is so happy! Until my next visit!

Staff is very helpful and always concerned about my Mother’s needs, the interior and grounds maintenance is exceptional. Dining provides healthy menus to choose from. Front desk staff is always friendly and helpful. Best decision we ever made was bringing my mom here.
