Spring is just around the corner!

Rain, rain, and more rain last month means spring in Ventura is going to be positively beautiful! The hills are already green as emeralds and buds are forming on trees as the bulbs begin to push up from the rain drenched soil. It’s also the month of luck with St. Patrick’s day on the horizon!

As always, we have plenty of fun activities planned this month:

Wednesday, March 6th at 1:30pm in the Dining Room Lounge we will present a new movement class. Instructor Leslie Sokol created an adult dance and fitness program “For the Young at Heart.” Her mission is to educate, inspire and motivate adults to live a healthy lifestyle through exercising, self-awareness and having fun! Leslie’s motto: Age is just a number; you can accomplish anything you set your mind to! I invite you to come along to this presentation, then we can see if it’s a class we want to add to our calendar.

Thursday, March 7th at 2pm Join Pianist Monte Montgomery in the front lobby for a little jazz and a singalong.

Wednesday, March 13th at 2pm in the Dining Room Lounge join us when we celebrate our March Birthdays. We will introduce a group of new entertainers, “The Orchard Bluegrass Band.” They offer a fun variety of Bluegrass, Gospel and Western Music. Great mix of vocal harmonizing and instrumental arrangements! Come on down and enjoy some toe tapping music.

Friday, March 15th at 3pm in the Dining Room Lounge David Gilchrist will be here to entertain you during our wine and cheese social. Here is a short biography. During his career David has traveled the world. His stage like presence is charming. He sings songs from all eras and is now retired living here in Ventura. Here are a few of his accomplishments. Recently, David played Fagin in Steppingstone Players’ Oliver, Grandpa Potts in Simi ARTS Chitty, Chitty Bang Bang and Drake in Annie. His other credits include King and I, Cinderella, and The Sound of Music. Born in Melbourne, Australia, he has performed in Australia, South Africa, and London’s West End.

Saturday, March 23rd at 6:30pm in the Vista Room Fredrik will be here to play all your favorite piano tunes.

Out Townehouse Singers Townehouse Singers Rehearsals are back! Join us in the Vista Room every Tuesday at 3:30pm. We are currently rehearsing a Broadway themed program.

Our Happy Residents
  • My grandmother lives at the Ventura Townehouse and I feel confident that she is in good hands. They get her to her appointments and provide any aftercare that she may need. Everyone there is friendly and like family. I feel like I’m at home when I go there to visit her and eat with her in the dining room.

  • Recently, I visited my Mom from Chicago. Each day I offered to take us out and about in Ventura. We found ourselves having such an enjoyable time at the Townehouse we didn’t leave. The dining room was so lovey to enjoy with her friends. Patios welcoming and the activities kept us busy. We laughed and had fun all day! Thank you everyone for making me feel at home and making my visit special. It’s always hard to leave my mom. But not as hard when I know she is so happy! Until my next visit!
