Fall fun is on the horizon at the Ventura Townehouse this month!

Oktoberfest Birthday Celebration
On October 25 at 2 pm we are hosting our Oktoberfest Birthday Celebration with the Oompah Polka Band! Join us to help wish all of our residents with October birthdays many happy returns!

Halloween Costume Party

The decorations are popping up at the Ventura Townehouse in preparation for our Annual Halloween Costume Party Contest on Wednesday, October 31. This year we’re pleased to welcome the Blue Grass Hillbillies Band as our special musical guests. We will serve spooky cocktails and award ribbons to the best Halloween costume. Dress up in your Halloween best and flaunt your costumes.

Additional special events this month include:

Music with Rod

Sunday, October 1 at 3 pm join guitarist Rod Sanders
for Music and Wine. Rod will serenade us with a selection of country and folk music that we can all sing along to.

Welcoming Shabbat

October 6 at 4:15 pm Join us in the Vista Room for Welcoming Shabbat. If you have a special Shabbat song that is close to your heart, we would love to hear from you.

Men’s Social Gathering

Thursday, October 19 at 12 noon we are inviting all men to meet us in the Pavilion for a social lunch gathering. Pizza and Beer will be available. Please sign up in the Dining Room Lounge if you plan to attend.

Weekly Cocktail Hour

Join us for our weekly cocktail hour in the Pavilion every Wednesday afternoon at 3:30pm.

October Outings

We have three community outings planned this month!

Lunch Outing

Wednesday, October 4 we are going to the Olive Garden in Oxnard for lunch. Sign up in the Dining Room Lounge. We will meet in the front lobby at 11am.

Classical Music Concert

Sunday, October 8
Join us for an afternoon concert with the Channel Island Chamber Orchestra.
This concert will include Mozart’s Symphony No. 29 and will also celebrate Sergei Rachmaninoff on his 150th birthday.
Rachmaninoff’s brilliant and challenging Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor will be performed by Juilliard-trained guest soloist Sonya Kumiko Lee, who has performed all over the world, including Carnegie Hall. It is a work of breathtaking brilliance and filled with lush melodies. We will leave the Front Lobby at 2pm. Suggested donation $25. Please sign up for this concert in the Dining Room Lounge.

Santa Paula Art Museum

Wednesday, October 18
“The Art of George Lockwood.”
Santa Barbara County artist and Santa Paula native George Lockwood presents over 35 new paintings representing scenes and subjects from Santa Paula to the Central Coast to the Pacific Northwest. We will leave the front lobby at 10:30. Please sign up in the Dining Room Lounge for this outing.

Calling all Townehouse Singers! Townehouse rehearsals are back!

Every Tuesday, at 3:30pm, join us in the Vista Room.
We will start rehearsals for our December Holiday Concert. Lyric sheets for many of your favorite holiday songs will be provided. No need to audition. Just come along and enjoy!

  • My grandmother lives at the Ventura Townehouse and I feel confident that she is in good hands. They get her to her appointments and provide any aftercare that she may need. Everyone there is friendly and like family. I feel like I’m at home when I go there to visit her and eat with her in the dining room.

  • Recently, I visited my Mom from Chicago. Each day I offered to take us out and about in Ventura. We found ourselves having such an enjoyable time at the Townehouse we didn’t leave. The dining room was so lovey to enjoy with her friends. Patios welcoming and the activities kept us busy. We laughed and had fun all day! Thank you everyone for making me feel at home and making my visit special. It’s always hard to leave my mom. But not as hard when I know she is so happy! Until my next visit!
