I was born in Pennsylvania and my family, including two brothers, moved to California in 1947. After high school and then college I taught school.
In 1950 I married, and we had two children. We divorced but remained friends. Sometime later I remarried, and we traveled a great deal. My favorite trip was to China seeing the Yangtze River and the Great Dam.
After my husband passed away, I continued teaching – 35 years in all. I have two children, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
At one time I lived up the street from the Townehouse and I always said if I went into a retirement home it would be here. A little-known fact is during my teaching years I also worked, after school, in the service area here at the Townehouse in the Dining Room. “It’s a great life if you don’t weaken!”
