September at the Townehouse

The days are becoming noticeably shorter as we move closer to the beginning of autumn on September 21, one of our favorite seasons at the Townehouse!

In addition to Labor Day, we are looking forward to celebrating Grandparents Day on Saturday, September 9. And we also wish all who observe a peaceful Rosh Hashanah (September 15) and Yom Kippur (beginning the evening of September 24).

Additional special events this month include:

September 7th at 2pm Join us in the Front Lobby for an art show by Carole Morris. Art will be on sale and all proceeds will go to the employee gratuity fund.

September 13th Rabbi Lotker will give a lecture while using the projection screen in the Vista Room.

September 21st at 2pm Classical guitarist Gilberto will be in the front lobby to serenade us once again.

September 21st at 3pm Rabbi Latovicz will be in the Dining Room Lounge to celebrate this month’s Jewish holidays.

We will continue with our cocktail hour in the Pavilion every Wednesday afternoon at 3:30pm.

We have added two community outings on a Sunday afternoon along with our Wednesday outings to Chumash Casino and Picnic at the Beach.

In this month’s newsletter you’ll meet our newest Townehouse residents: Betty Tepezano, Avram and Margaret (Al and Peggy) Rubin, and Mark and Juddy Kupperman. We’ll also tell you about our resident Artist of the Month Carole Morris!

Our Happy Residents
  • My grandmother lives at the Ventura Townehouse and I feel confident that she is in good hands. They get her to her appointments and provide any aftercare that she may need. Everyone there is friendly and like family. I feel like I’m at home when I go there to visit her and eat with her in the dining room.

  • Recently, I visited my Mom from Chicago. Each day I offered to take us out and about in Ventura. We found ourselves having such an enjoyable time at the Townehouse we didn’t leave. The dining room was so lovey to enjoy with her friends. Patios welcoming and the activities kept us busy. We laughed and had fun all day! Thank you everyone for making me feel at home and making my visit special. It’s always hard to leave my mom. But not as hard when I know she is so happy! Until my next visit!

  • Staff is very helpful and always concerned about my Mother’s needs, the interior and grounds maintenance is exceptional. Dining provides healthy menus to choose from. Front desk staff is always friendly and helpful. Best decision we ever made was bringing my mom here.
