Dear Residents, Family Members and Employees,
We’d like to take this opportunity to extend our most sincere and heartfelt thanks to all of you, for continuing to follow the Public Health and CDC guidelines, including social distancing (at least six feet apart), wearing masks, frequent handwashing and hand sanitizing and, of course, remaining within the Townehouse setting; be it in your house or on energetic and vigorous walks throughout its beautiful grounds. These ongoing efforts will ensure that you, your fellow residents, and all our treasured staff remain healthy and safe, and will help prevent the spread of the virus. These are challenging times for all retirement communities, but we are certain that The Townehouse will emerge stronger and brighter than ever.
Per Public Health guidance we completed our re-testing on June 19th of all Tower and Garden Villa residents. We received the results and are truly delighted to inform you that all residents tested negative. Additional re-testing was also done on all Tower and Garden Villa staff, as well as several Memory Care staff. Public Health notified us that all Tower and Garden Villa staff tested negative, but three, and five Memory Care staff. All were asymptomatic, and now quarantining at home.
To further ensure that our residents and staff continue to remain Covid free, Public Health has asked us to perform another round of re-testing in a couple weeks. We will let you know the re-test date in advance.
After the next round of re-testing, with no confirmed cases of Covid-19, per state of California, we will do ongoing random surveillance testing for staff, in order to monitor for any trace of the virus, isolate it prior to further transmission, and mitigate any potential outbreak. Per state of California, any further resident testing will be considered only for those who present with symptoms of Covid-19, or were exposed to someone who tested positive.
In keeping with Townehouse policy, any resident returning from a hospital or skilled nursing facility will require testing and a confirmed negative result prior to returning.
New residents moving into our community will also be required to test for Covid-19 before moving in with a confirmed negative result.
We are honored to serve each and every one of our residents, and are ever so grateful to our loyal, faithful and dedicated employees. Please remember to get some fresh air, steal a walk with some friends (socially distanced of course), and take advantage of our vast and lovely grounds.
We’ve always appreciated The Townehouse’s impressive structures, together with its magnificent and beautiful outdoor area, but during these times, the expansive acreage and lush landscaping is more indispensable than ever; absolutely priceless. You’re always welcome to lounge on your private balcony enjoying a glass of fine wine in hand, and simply gaze at the spectacular scenery, picturesque panoramas and breathtaking vistas. Or perhaps you’d rather use your creative “green thumb” skills and tend to your exclusive Villa garden. Whichever way you prefer to enjoy The Townehouse community during this time, please make sure you stay connected to family and friends. And by all means, kindly let us know if you need anything; we are here to assist you and we thank you for that opportunity.
Warmly,
Evan Granucci
Executive Director
